Nutritional Philosophy
Every day, several times a day, you make food choices that influence your body’s health for better and/or worse. Each day’s choice may benefit or harm your health only a little, but when these choices are repeated over years and decades, the rewards or consequences become major. That being the case, close attention to good eating habits now can bring health benefits late. Conversely, carelessness about food choices from youth on can be a major contributor to many of today’s most prevalent chronic diseases of later life, including hear disease, cancer and diabetes of later life. Of course, some people become ill or die young no matter what choices they make, and others will live long lives despite making poor choices. For the large majority, however, the food choices they make each and every day will benefit or impair their health in proportion to the wisdom of those choices.
In fact, one survey reports that only adults who select the recommended number of servings from each of the five food groups meet recommendations for energy, fat, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Unfortunately, only 1 percent of the more than 8,000 people surveyed made such selections.
Focused on Wellness
Although we are a chiropractic clinic, we aim for wellness care, rather than sickness care. Dr. Plummer would like to be known as a health expert, not a disease expert.
